Alex Gibbs Should Improve Seahawks Offense | NFL Fantasy Rankings

Houston Texans Training Camp
New Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll inherited two major problems when he took over in Seattle. First off, he has one of the worst defenses in football and secondly, he has an offensive line that needs serious improvement.

If Carroll is going to be a success, this time around in the NFL, major improvement in these area's is vital. Since Carroll comes from coaching the defensive side of the football his natural understanding of that side of the football should be helped by his arrival.

On the other side of the football, it was going to be crucial that Carroll not only upgraded his offensive line with talent but with solid coaching as well.

This week Carroll has made a solid move by snagging one of the best offensive line coaches away from the Houston Texans in Alex Gibbs.

Gibbs has had success with the Broncos, Falcons and Texans over the past 15 years. Heck, just the fact that he kept a Texans' quarterback off his back should make him a respectable line coach.

Cheap Fantasy Football Production

All Seahawk players will come at a very reasonable price in fantasy football drafts this coming summer. This team has put together two bad years in a row, and many fantasy owners will glance over these players when selecting talent for their respective squads.

Matt Hasselbeck, John Carlson, T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Nate Burleson and Justin Forsett all have talent. That being said, if they don't have an offensive line to open holes or keep Hasselbeck up right than this team is doomed to fail.

With Gibbs running the show on the o-line, these players now have a proven coach that can provide these players an opportunity to succeed.

Now, what we need to see if the Seahawks add more talent to the line through free agency and the draft.

An Interesting Fantasy Twist

Seeing Gibbs move to Seattle is huge for the Seahawks but it also may be just as important to the fantasy success of players on the Houston Texans. Houston has now lost offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan and Gibbs.

These key loses may end up hurting the Texans' fantasy players like Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson. Unfortunately, fantasy owners won't find out just how important these coaches are to their success until the season begins.
