49ers- Rams: Vernon Davis Ties Tight End TD Record | NFL Fantasy Football Rankings

This was by far the most boring of all games in the final week of the NFL and fantasy football season. For most of the game, both teams struggled to move the football but in the final quarter, the 49ers got it going.

Vernon Makes Big Play

Tight End Vernon Davis has had a fabulous season this year, and today he showed his speed down the field. On a third down play in the fourth quarter, Davis burned a corner with his speed and Alex Smith finally took a chance down the field.

To Smith's credit, his first pass down the field went right into Davis's hands and Davis caught the football in stride and went 73 yards for the score.

Last week I was at the 49ers-Lions game and Smith had many opportunities down the field against the Lions poor secondary. Smith really only tried to go down the field one time and on that play, he hit Michael Crabtree for a 50 yard play.

This week he not only hit Davis but on the next drive, he threw another pass down field to Crabtree for a nice 38 yard reception.

If Smith is going to be the 49ers starting quarterback next year he needs to throw the football down the field more often. Look for the 49ers to work on just that as offensive coordinator Jimmy Raye will stay with the team next year.

This will be the first time in Smth's five, heading on six year career that he will have an OC for two years in a row.

The Rams Get Ndamukong Suh

This is a football team that needs either an big time impact player or a bunch of draft picks to help them get better. In the end, the Rams will now get one or the other as they officially have the number one pick in next years NFL draft.

This year we will have one of the more hyped and maybe best defensive lineman to come out of college in a long time. Nebraska star lineman Ndamukong Suh was an awesome player in college and will be the top pick in next years draft.

No doubt the Rams will draft this stud if he wants to play in St. Louis (and they want to pay the huge contract). If the Rams should try and trade the pick, they will get big time value back as this is the type of player that other teams will pay big to get.
