The Patriots and Jets matched up for the first time this season in New York. Going into the game I was interested in seeing how Tom Brady would carve up the Jets' defense. Unfortunately, for Brady the Jets gave him everything he could handle and more.
Tom Brady Not In Rhythm
Last week until the end of the game, it was easy to see that Brady was not right mechanically. This week he continued with his struggles and had an off game. For the game Brady was 23 of 47 passing for only 216 yards and no touchdowns.
Next week I would expect the Patriots to establish a more balanced attack and take pressure of Brady. This team needs to keep Brady throwing the football no more than 35 times. Until his knee is fully healthy, he will struggle like this, most weeks.
Jets Defense is Tough
Last weekend I wrote about Darrelle Revis and the Jets' defense. They were very good against the Texans last week. Revis shut down Andre Johnson last week and this week he shut down Randy Moss as well.
It looks like it's time to say that Revis is one of the top five shut down corners in the NFL.
Rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez is playing well enough to make this defense dominant for fantasy football. Look out for the Jets' defense as they should be good all yearlong.
