This matchup was a showdown for the early lead in the Western division. If the 49ers could pull this win off, they would have victories over the Seahawks and Cardinals already.
Frank Gore Runs Wild
Some doubted if Frank Gore could ever return to his great numbers he posted back in 2006. In this game, he showed the fantasy football world that he is still a very good fantasy running back.
In the first half, he busted a 79 yard touchdowns and in the second half he had an 80 yard touchdown. These two runs single handedly beat the Seahawks.
Now, it would be nice to see the 49ers do a better job in the passing game. If they can have a respectable passing attack than Gore may be one of the top five fantasy players for 2009.
Only time will tell if that can happen but for now, Gore is off to a great start.
Matt Hasselbeck Goes Down
At the end of the first half Matt Hasselbeck broke a rib and was done for the game. His rib injury is similar to Donovan McNabb's last week. This injury will probably keep Hasselbeck sidelined for a few weeks.
All players on the Seahawks will take a fantasy dip in value as long as Hasselbeck is not on the field.
Next week the Matt Forte gets to play the Seahawks bad run defense and should have a field day.
